Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have been a birth doula for 8 years. I was a birth assistant for a local birthing center for 3 years and I am now currently a birth assistant for a local homebirth midwife and have been for 2 years. I have attended approximately 220 births to date.
What led you to become a Doula?: The birth of my own baby, a little over 8 years ago. It was a traumatic birth but with the help of my doula, it was the best it could've been. It inspired me to become a doula. I wanted to educate, nurture, support, and advocate for families during childbirth.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
I’ve been told I have a calming presence and that they felt more relaxed and at ease when I walk into the birthing space. I have been recommended personally by local nurses, midwives, and OBs, which I think is pretty cool!
