Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Hello, my name is Ingrid and I am thrilled to introduce myself to you. I was born in Colombia and have had a rich and diverse background that has shaped who I am today. As a mother of 8 and having gone through 9 pregnancies, I have developed a deep passion for the journey of motherhood and helping other mothers in their postpartum period. Over the years, I have trained in various areas related to child development, counseling, and women's studies, which has helped me become a postpartum doula. I find great joy in supporting and guiding mothers during this special and often challenging time in their lives. My love for helping others has always been a part of who I am, and it's something that brings me great fulfillment. Being able to make a difference in someone's life, especially during such a transformative period, is incredibly rewarding. I am excited to continue on this path and see where it takes me in my journey of motherhood and helping other women.

What led you to become a Doula?: Becoming a postpartum doula has been a natural extension of my desire to support and care for others. Since I was a child, I knew that I wanted to be a mother and that has always been a dream of mine. However, as I began my own journey into motherhood, I realized that it was not an easy one. I faced challenges and obstacles that I had not anticipated and found myself in need of support and guidance. Through my own experiences, I became acutely aware of the importance of having someone by your side who understands what you are going through and who can offer a helping hand. This realization sparked my interest in becoming a postpartum doula, as I saw it as an opportunity to give back to others who may be going through a similar experience. I became passionate about supporting mothers during their postpartum period and helping them navigate the challenges that come with caring for a new baby. My journey as a postpartum doula (without the title) has been incredibly fulfilling, and I have been able to make a positive impact on the lives of many mothers and families. It has been an honor to be a part of their journey and to offer support, guidance, and care during this transformative time. I am grateful for the opportunity to pursue this passion and look forward to continuing to help mothers in any way that I can.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

I get these words a lot: “you are made for this career”.
