Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Maternal health has been a passion of mine my whole life. My curiosity for all things pregnancy and postpartum was just a “weird thing” I obsessed over growing up, according to others. The idea of birth work being something I could actually be a part or was just a dream for a very long time because I had absolutely no idea how that even happened. Once I became a mother for the first time, with my first labor experience being one that made me feel uncomfortable, powerless, and having no control over anything happening, my passion for supporting, educating, empowering and advocating grew.

What led you to become a Doula?: My birth experience as a first time mom for sure. I knew that I could no longer be ignorant. That birth did not have to be traumatic. After speaking with other mothers who also felt powerless and unheard during their labor and delivery, a fire was lit in me!

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

I’m super empathetic. I’m selfless almost to a fault. There’s a bright side to any situation as far as I’m concerned. I’m good at finding the “good” in a person. I’m relatable. I do a good job of making people feel heard.
