Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am a yoga instructor (prenatal certified) I have also served as a middle school teacher for three years and served in the military for 9 years. I have had my own different birth experiences which keeps me open minded to each experience. I was born and raised in Japan and have experienced judgement as a "foreigner" in both the U.S. and Japan. I've been raised to be open minded and accepting of differences.
What led you to become a Doula?: During my third pregnancy/birth, I've done a lot of digging with the physiological process of birth and absolutely fell in love with this opportunity as a woman to bring a life to this world. I have really learned that it can truly be a beautiful experience and memory with the right education and support. I opted for a doula support during my third pregnancy and I want to provide support to birthing people along with my yoga background.
